Reducing poverty is not the same as reducing economic inequality and a hand full of billionaires in the USA who decry economic inequality will not reverse the trend of ever growing inequality.

Any billionaire who is against economic inequality has my praise and cherished admiration but we need to put this into perspective.

Income inequality has been a central issue in the past few election cycles as the economy has failed to boost incomes for middle-class families.

But some of the loudest voices decrying income inequality might surprise you: America's billionaires.

Ray Dalio, Warren Buffett, Jamie Dimon, Steve Schwarzman, Howard Shultz and Bill Gates have been sounding the alarm about the importance of addressing the wealth gap and the dangers it presents to the U.S.

Dalio, Buffett, Dimon, Gates, Schwarzman, and Schultz see income inequality as a fundamental problem and they want the U.S. government to step up and help fix it.

All six of these men should be lionized for the good work they are doing and I hold them in the highest esteem for their fight against inequality. But an article like this still needs to have some perspective. In truth, these six men are only part of the 585 total number of billionaires in the USA in 2018. Although Warren Buffett and Bill Gates are some of the wealthiest billionaires, it is a minuscule showing at best.
